Privacy Policy
Recollect is built around a simple belief: your reflections are yours. This policy explains what data the app collects, what it doesn't, and how your information is handled.
The short version
Recollect requires a sign-in with your email address. Beyond that, everything you add — quotes, notes, categories — is stored locally on your device. We do not collect your content, we do not run analytics, and we do not sell data.
What data is stored
All content you add to Recollect — reflections, notes, favorites, categories — is saved entirely on your device using local storage. This data never leaves your device unless you explicitly back it up through iCloud (see below).
Recollect requires a sign-in with your email address to use the app. Beyond this, the app does not transmit any of your content to external servers.
iCloud backup
If you have iCloud Backup enabled on your device, your Recollect data may be included in your standard device backup. This is governed by Apple's own privacy policy and is entirely within your control via iOS Settings. Recollect does not independently sync or store data to iCloud.
Home Screen widget
The Recollect widget displays reflections from your local library on your Home Screen. No data is transmitted to display the widget — it reads directly from the same on-device storage as the app.
Analytics and tracking
Recollect does not use any third-party analytics, advertising frameworks, or tracking libraries. We do not collect usage statistics, crash reports, or behavioural data of any kind.
Apple may collect certain aggregated, anonymised metrics through the App Store (such as download counts). This is handled by Apple and is subject to Apple's Privacy Policy.
Children's privacy
Recollect does not knowingly collect any information from children under the age of 13. The app collects no personal data from any user, regardless of age.
Changes to this policy
If we make material changes to this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this page periodically. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
